Training

Alongside clinical work, I provide training, consultation and reflective practice for organisations and professionals working in emotionally demanding roles through Real Life Psychology, an organisation I co-founded and co-direct.

I have extensive experience designing and delivering trauma informed and psychologically informed training for healthcare, social care, mental health and criminal justice services, including psychologists, doctors, social workers, community practitioners, police, probation services and senior leaders.

Training is tailored to the needs of organisations and commonly focuses on:

  • Trauma and adversity
  • Emotional regulation and resilience
  • Working with complexity, risk and distress
  • Substance misuse and mental health
  • Preventing burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma
  • Reflective practice and psychologically informed leadership

Training and consultation have been delivered across NHS services, local authorities and third-sector organisations throughout the South West, including Exeter City Council and Devon County Council.

The work consistently receives positive feedback for strengthening staff wellbeing, reflective capacity, communication and psychologically informed practice.
